I have certain bridal packages that include multiple sessions such as bridal sessions, engagement sessions, and so on.  I'd like to be able to link them to one invoice, so I can see the invoice when I look under their session information.  Is this possible?

Thank you,
Alex

Hi Alex,

I am a user of S+, the quick answer is no - one session per invoice ... you really would not want it any other way.  S+ needs to know what images to show for a session for production, what session to give credit to for sales reports, etc.

The common areas that can apply to multiple sessions are Promotions and Session Custom Fields and Session Types.  You can then create a Filter to just show the invoices or sessions that apply.

Promotions are available in the Filter system to connect to sessions, but not to invoices so I would not use Promotions as your common link so that you could see the financial picture if you wanted to.

Invoice Filters can connect to session information so you could use either Session Types or Custom Fields.   If you choose Custom Fields I would name a custom field "WedPackage (y or empty)" ... so every job that applied you would enter "y" in the field and you would remember that if it didn't apply you would just leave it empty.

If you use session type then you would probably have  session types like "WedPack Bridal", "WedPack Engaagement", "WedPack Wedding" to differentiate from from engagement sessions and weddings that don't get the package.  If it was me I would do the custom field as it is simpler and doesn't create dupluicate session types (i.e. Wedding and WedPack Wedding).

In either case you would create a Filter to just show invoices with those session types or that Custom Field that equals "y".

Then go to the Invoice List view and select Filter and then the filter you created.  You can click the Fiter The Data button to get to just one client and you can click the Show Totals button to see totals.

I hope this is a help!

Roger,
Thank you for helping out, but there would be a better way.  Unfortunately, ajdoong is using the Free Express version and does not have this option available to him.  You could use advanced scheduling and create multiple calendar events for one session.  So, while it is still not multiple sessions to one invoice, it would be able to have those events marked on the calendar (with different photgraphers and other resources if desired) and they would all be contained on one session.  You may want to consider upgrading to the Professional Edition to get the Advanced Calendar feature.

well there you go ... ;-) ... makes total sense if you think of the 3 sessions as one session ... :) - that is the easy way
