New StudioPlus Spectra 2013 Part II – Price List Enhancements

Because invoicing is such a big part of what StudioPlus Spectra can do for you, managing your price lists effectively and efficiently is really important.  In Spectra 2013, we’ve completely updated some of the Price List maintenance screens and added some great new features.

First, the Price List Item maintenance screen has been completely re-written (from the ground up!) to make your data entry easier. Here’s a look –

We’ve also added some great new features, like the ability to quickly copy an item or an item group (along with all the items in the group), as well as the ability to copy an entire package and keep the links with all the package components.

We also removed the previous Item Categories (Session Fees, Prints, Packages, Services, and Composites) and made them an attribute of each item, called the Item Type. This means that you will now be able to mix and match items of any type within your item groups. You will also be able to arrange your item groups in any order within a price list since they are no longer bound by a category.

Next, we added a great new feature to packages, called Unit Based Packages.  This feature allows you to assign a sheet unit value to a package and a sheet unit value to all the package components.  During the sales presentation, you will be able to mix and match any components the client wants to purchase until the unit value of all the components matches the allowable sheet value for the package.  Controls are also included to make sure that sales people do not exceed the allowable total.

Finally, we improved the Price List Import Wizard with several new features, making it easier to use and much more flexible. For example, you can now export your Spectra price list to Microsoft Excel, make adjustments, and then re-import it. During the import, items that already exist will be updated. If an item does not exist, it will be imported. Very cool!

For any of you that have spent time using the Price List maintenance screens in a prior version of Spectra, you’ll be sure to love the new enhancements made in 2013!
