Google Syncing Issues – Resolved

We are pleased to announce that we have a new Google Sync solution ready for release to address recent changes made by Google, which resulted in Google Sync no longer working with our software as of November 17th, 2014. For those needing this fix, please read these notes.

  1. The new Google Sync is being added to Service Release 10 for both Spectra 2014 and myStratus 2014. As a Spectra user, you must be on a current maintenance plan to receive the update. All myStratus subscribers will receive the update.
  2. We do not like to make official releases before a weekend or a holiday period because our support offices are going to be closed. (Support offices will be closed ThursdaySunday due to the US Thanksgiving holiday). Therefore, we are not officially releasing this update until next Monday. However, for those who want the update now, and understand that support will not be available ThursdaySunday, click here for the Spectra download and click here for the myStratus Desktop download.
  3. As of this release, only Google Calendar Sync has been re-enabled. Google Contacts will not sync until a future release.
  4. After you have the new release installed, you will need to re-enable Google Sync for each user. This step is required because Google has changed the authentication process required for syncing. In addition, it is no longer required to sync with the “Primary” Google calendar only. Each user will be given the option to select which Google Calendar with which to sync (if there are multiple calendars). Simply click Maintenance>Preferences>User Preferences>Google. Then authenticate the Google account and select a calendar. Repeat these steps for each user. Click here for detailed information.

We would like to again apologize for this service interruption over the past week. Even though this outage was caused by recent changes made by Google and not us, we certainly take these situations very seriously. Our team worked incredible hours over the past week to make this update available as quickly as possible. We appreciate your understanding.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give us call!
