StudioPlus has chosen to integrate its software with industry-leading credit card processing companies TSYS™ (formerly Cayan) in the United States, eWAY™ in Australia and New Zealand, and Global Payments in Europe and Canada. The integration does not require any additional software. The only requirement is that the computer you are using to run Spectra/myStratus Desktop has an Internet connection.
In addition to making credit card processing extremely easy, StudioPlus, TSYS, eWAY, and Global Payments take much of the hassle out of the requirements necessary for your business to become PCI compliant. See the PCI Compliance section below to learn more about PCI compliance and how it affects you. To locate the PCI web site, click here.
Before processing credit cards, you will need to contact TSYS, eWAY, or Global Payments to set up an account and acquire your unique authorization credentials. These credentials will be entered into Company (Studio) Preferences in Spectra/myStratus Desktop in order to authorize the integration. For more information on establishing your account, please see the links at Company (Studio) Preferences - Credit Cards Overview
The Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard (DSS) defines a set of requirements for the configuration, operation, and security of payment card transactions in your business. If you allow your clients to pay with credit cards, these standards apply to you. Failure to comply with these standards can result in significant fines should a security breach occur. With the Spectra/myStratus credit card processing routine with TSYS or eWAY, PCI compliance has become much easier for your business to attain. Using this feature allows Spectra/myStratus to be removed from the PCI compliance scope. This is achieved because Spectra/myStratus never touch credit card numbers and never store credit card numbers in its database. Using token processing through TSYS, eWAY, or Global Payments this credit card routine works on single transactions as well as automatic payment plans. NOTE: If you have been using an older version of the software (before these changes were implemented) or have been storing credit cards in the software, you will need to turn on this new feature and purge the database of all existing credit card details. Click here for more information on the new settings and purge routine.
In order for your business to be PCI compliant, you must NOT store any credit card details in Spectra/myStratus. In addition, if you have previously stored credit card details in your database, you must remove them.
